Atlantic premiers led regional businesses on Atlanta trade mission


ATLANTA (CNB) – Premier David Alward led seven New Brunswick companies on a Council of Atlantic Premiers' Trade Mission to Atlanta, Ga., Feb. 6-8.

“As an export-driven province, New Brunswick has an important and long-standing relationship with trading partners in the United States,” said Alward. “This mission was an opportunity to engage new partners and promote the benefits of doing business in New Brunswick. It was also an opportunity to showcase innovativeNew Brunswick businesses that are poised to grow.”

Alward joined Premier Kathy Dunderdale of Newfoundland and Labrador, Premier Darrell Dexter of Nova Scotia, and Premier Robert Ghiz of Prince Edward Island, and a delegation of more than twenty Atlantic Canadian business leaders, on the trade mission.


The purpose of the mission was to strengthen and enhance trade partnerships between the four Atlantic Provinces and the southeastern United States, especially Georgia. The premiers and their delegations showcased how companies from this region can quickly and efficiently supply companies in Georgia with the goods and services they need. They also promoted the attributes and strategies of Atlantic Provinces relating to their location, entrepreneurial leadership and expertise, skilled labour and export opportunities.

The list of New Brunswick companies which participated in the mission are:

●    ACCREON, of Fredericton;

●    Greater Moncton International Airport, of Moncton;

●    GreenNexxus, of Fredericton;

●    Imperial Manufacturing Group, of Moncton;

●    Industrial Rubber Co. Ltd., of Bathurst;

●    MASITEK Instruments, of Moncton; and

●    PQA (Professional Quality Assurance), of Fredericton.



Alward and the other premiers participated in a number of  events including a visit to Lockheed Martin and a breakfast speaking engagement before the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.
